Diocesan Convention - Mark your calendars for Oct. 24
The 168th Annual Convention of the Diocese of Iowa will be held online this year on October 24th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Invitations with log-in details and instructions for downloading the convention app will be emailed to all registered attendees on Sept. 23. EACH delegate will need their own device to participate - a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer. If a delegate does not have access to a device, or adequate internet to stream convention, please be in touch right away so we can help your church find a solution that will let them participate.
Visitors must register by Oct. 14.
There will be opportunities to practice and test your connectivity available on October 10th and 17th at 10 am.

Additional Dismantling Racism Training Dates Added
Grounded in The Episcopal Church's commitment to dismantling racism as essential to our formation as Christians, this ONLINE training is open to all persons who would like to deepen their understanding of racism, prejudice, and privilege. The training will consist of 2 sessions from 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30pm-2:30pm
Dismantling Racism: Training for Church Leaders is a training day that is required of all lay and ordained leaders in The Episcopal Church (including vestries, search committees, diocesan leadership, etc.). Added dates, click to register:
International Development Mini-Grants: Due August 15
It's that time of year when the One World/One Church Commission of our Diocese invites congregations and/or members supported by their congregation to submit a grant with an international development focus or component. The funding for this comes from our diocesan budget and is at least 0.7% of the net disposable diocesan income. These have become known as the International Development Mini-Grants.
The grants received over the last 20 years have represented a diverse set of priorities seeking to end hunger, promote reconciliation and peace, and to provide assistance enabling people to live with a renewed sense of dignity and hope.

United Thank Offering Grants: Due for diocesan review by Aug. 3
The United Thank Offering will accept applications in two categories, Sustaining Ministries and Innovative Ministries, at two different funding levels through two granting cycles. The criteria for each category are different. Applicants must demonstrate concisely how the project directly supports the recovery effort.
Due to the extreme need in local communities, for this granting cycle, the UTO Board has established two levels of funding in order to help as many applicants as possible: Seed Funding ($0 to $10,000) and Impact Funding ($10,001 to $25,000). Additionally, the UTO Board recognizes that the needs of communities are dire now and will continue, therefore, there will be two grant cycles for 2021 within the focus area. The UTO Board will grant all Ingathering funds received by August 31, 2020 and awarded in October 2020, and the remaining Ingathering will be awarded in April 2021 through a second grant cycle.
