Are you anxious about global events? Concerned about the uncertainties in our nation and/or in your own life? In today’s chaotic world, it is easy to become overwhelmed by these feelings or numb to those around us. Times like this are when it is most important to center ourselves in Christ and follow His Way of Love. At this young adult retreat, led by Oblates of The Benedictine Way, we will explore Benedictine Spirituality and Contemplative Prayer as a source of stability in our lives. The practices of prayer, service, and community are not limited to monastic life; they are guidelines for all of us as we grow in faith and seek peace in our world and within ourselves.
When & Where: The retreat will be held at St. Benedict’s House on The Benedictine Way campus (3014 Belvedere Blvd., Omaha, NE 68111), from 10 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, September 28. Afterwards, all are welcome to join the young adults of The Benedictine Way for a social event from 3-5 PM in Omaha.
Cost: this retreat is free to attend, and lunch is included; the optional 3-5pm event may cost up to $30 (scholarships available)
Iowa Young Adults: If you’re interested and would like to carpool from Des Moines or Ames to Omaha, let us know. And if you’re driving and not able to make the drive to and from Omaha in the same day (particularly our eastern Iowa young adults), let us know - we’ll work with you to arrange a room overnight.
