Discipleship Circles

ABOUT GETTING STARTED RESOURCES

Getting Started

To launch one CIRCLE

  • How long will you meet? 8 weeks with the option of continuing? 10 weeks? A school year?

  • Where or how will you meet? 6 feet apart in a room at church, online with Zoom, in a park or other outside location, somewhere else where social distancing isn’t hard?

  • What format for meeting will the circle use? See RESOURCES.

  • Who are potential circle members? Who will invite them, when and how?

To launch multiple independent CIRCLES

  • Invite people to sign up for circles and to indicate their preference for meeting in-person or online.

  • Assign people to circles of 4-5, making sure to have enough circles of 4 that there is room to invite newcomers into Discipleship Circles.

  • Multiple study options may be offered, general Bible study topics and topics relative to specific interests such as women, men, youth, family life, work-life and so on.

  • Equip each circle with the covenant agreement, the meeting format and location options, and study, prayer, and worship resources

  • Make sure your website and social media presence invite newcomers in to the circles and give clear instructions about how to join a circle.
