Genesis II launches!

Teams from seven congregations across the Diocese of Iowa gathered for the introductory meeting of the Genesis II Cohort on Sunday, February 12, 2023. The cohort of congregations includes:

  • St. Thomas’, Algona

  • St. Peter’s, Bettendorf

  • St. Paul’s Cathedral, Des Moines

  • St. John’s, Glenwood

  • St. Stephen’s, Newton

  • St. Martin’s, Perry

  • St. Timothy’s, West Des Moines

We began with a visual prayer called The Great Reversal, drawn from Isaiah 60 (words here) and a Lectio Divina exploration of the text of the prayer.

We established guidelines for how we will be with each other, drawn from the work of Visons, Inc.

And we explored Pathwright - the platform we will use to share resources, have discussion, and where the recording of each session can be found for anyone that has to miss a session.

Our work for next session includes reading about the Spiritual Autobiographies we will each write and answering the question - Why is it important for you to make this pilgrimage at this moment in your life?
