Annual Church FINANCIAL REVIEW
Annual financial reviews are required by the Canons of the Episcopal Church for all parishes, missions, and other institutions. The primary purpose of a review is to assure that financial statements are fairly stated as well as to protect the persons handling monies and investments.
The annual financial review is due in the diocesan office by September 1 each year.
The Financial Review Procedures established by the Diocese of Iowa have been updated. Thee new procedures provide a guide for churches and examiners to conduct an approved review.

Records Management
Database & Financial Software
One of the best investments a church can make in administration is powerful church management software. Before you even begin looking at the options, decide what types of tools would be useful to your church. Will you also use your database software to manage your church finances and track donations? Are you hoping to integrate web forms that can automate processes for event management, volunteer scheduling, and more? Do you need to incorporate online giving for one-time and recurring gifts? Are you looking for photo directory tools, calendars, and file sharing?
CDM+: This is both a database software AND a financial software. Inexpensive integrated software for non-profits that really works for both things. Developed by Clergy, it does offer a lot of "extras" for pay, but the basic software is powerful and offers some private tracking for pastoral concerns as well as visitor tracking that really helps track potential new members.
