What is a Happening weekend?
Happening is for high schoolers and led by high schoolers with the help of lay adults and clergy. At Happening, youth will participate in small group discussions, larger group presentations and games, laugh, listen to talks given by their peers, sing contemporary and folk music, and enjoy a number of original activities.
Staff applicationsare available for those high school students who have previously attended a Happening weekend and will be entering the 10 to 12 grade in the fall of 2010. Staff applications aredue July 15th, 2010.
Youth in 7th-9th grade are invited to New Beginnings #5 at St. Luke's, Cedar Falls on October 8-10th. New Beginnings is a youth-led retreat weekend, which encourages youth to ask questions about their relationships with themselves, their friends, their families, and God. One youth leader from New Beginnings said "I feel that God has called me to share my faith with others and make new relationships as I continue to grow in my faith." Participant applications are due September 26.
Youth who have attended two prior New Beginnings events, or those in 10th-12th grade are invited to apply for staff positions. Staff applications are due September 18th.
