About Province VI
2010 Synod Meeting
Ministry Networks
Leadership
As a regional structure, Province VI holds an annual synod meeting to develop programs that can be done together. The Synod also has the important task of electing a representative on the National Executive Council.
The 2010 Synod will be June 24-26 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines, IA
The theme of this year's Province VI Synod is "The Gift of Connections," and we will focus our time on making and keeping connections in our churches and in our lives as Christians.
Our guest speaker will be Nadia Bolz-Weber, a Lutheran Pastor, and the mission developer at House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver, Colorado, an emerging liturgical community.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Synod meetings. Although delegates are the official attendees, visitors are encouraged to come!

About Province VI
Province VI is one of nine provinces within the Episcopal Church. The provinces use networks to tie the dioceses within the province together. Networks are created by people across the province with similar passions coming together to share stories, knowledge, and resources. Networks strengthen our Church through relationship-building and resource-sharing throughout the dioceses. The actual networks within each province vary.
Known as the Land of Mountains, Lakes & Plains, it is made up of the eight dioceses of Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Province VI mission statement bears witness to our life in Christ through:
- Being a community of dioceses
- Empowering our diverse ministries
- Being a communication link
- Building and strengthening a sense of community and fellowship
- Fulfilling our ecumenical responsibilities
